Manzanita Farmers Market Triple Up Bucks – www.manzanitafarmersmarket.com\/\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The farmers market accepts SNAP benefits and with it the state funded Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) match.\u00a0 With Fulcrum\u2019s help they started to self-fund their own “Triple Up” SNAP match in 2025.\u00a0 This means that low-income residents triple their SNAP dollars at the market, getting $60 to spend every week that they use $20 in SNAP benefits.\u00a0 That money in turn goes directly to our local farmers and food vendors, many of whom are low income or SNAP recipients themselves.<\/p>\n

These funds will go directly to low-income shoppers to use at the market, and they will be spent at the booths of local farmers and food producers.\u00a0 SNAP match is an important tool for increasing the equity and community impact of the farmers market.\u00a0 It increases the buying power of low-income shoppers and creates an extra incentive to come to the market.\u00a0 The farmers market is a great place to learn about new foods and how to use them, access healthy fresh produce, and keep SNAP dollars circulating through the local economy.<\/p>\n

HUGGS – Helping us Give\/Get Support<\/strong> – Suicide prevention and other mental health support<\/p>\n

Smiley Salmon Harvest<\/strong><\/a> works with the fish hatchery and the Oregon Food Bank to catch and can hatchery Coho from fish traps for distribution to those in need. Local Neah-Kah-Nie High School students design can labels as a class project and are added during can labeling parties. The nonprofit is sponsored through Fulcrum Community Foundation to process donations and grants. Over 8,000 tins of 7.5 oz canned, local Coho Salmon were distributed in 2021. This is locally sourced fish goes directly to those in our community most. The foodbanks love having the canned salmon that\u2019s easily stored and has a long shelf life, with a small carbon footprint.<\/p>\n
