A\u00a0freak tornado hit\u00a0Manzanita on Friday, October 14, 2016. <\/strong>A\u00a0<\/strong>number of homes and businesses were damaged, some severely.<\/h3>\n

Fulcrum Community Resources was\u00a0designated one of the organizations to receive donations\u00a0and distribute funds to those most needing assistance. \u00a0Also tapped was CARE Inc. of Tillamook.<\/h3>\n

The Distribution Committee<\/strong> was\u00a0composed of Fulcrum Board members Lucy Brook, Tom Bender, Barbara McLaughlin and Lianne Thompson, as well as community members Laura Swanson, Tom Campbell and Breanna Stephens.<\/p>\n

The Fulcrum portion of the Manzanita Tornado Relief fund took in\u00a0$39,753.40. (Fulcrum did not receive an administrative cut on these donations).\u00a0 Donations were made to those affected by the tornado \u00a0ranging from $4000 to $360. \u00a0Other funds raised totaled $31,575 for a grand total of $71,371. Good going, community!<\/p>\n

All the funds were given away except for $182.30 which was then donated to the Emergency Volunteer Corps of Nehalem Bay.<\/p>\n
