{"id":535,"date":"2020-04-24T01:40:13","date_gmt":"2020-04-24T01:40:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fulcrumresources.org\/?page_id=535"},"modified":"2022-06-23T22:22:43","modified_gmt":"2022-06-23T22:22:43","slug":"small-business-relief-2020","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.fulcrumresources.org\/?page_id=535","title":{"rendered":"NORTH COUNTY BUSINESS RELIEF CAMPAIGN 2020\/2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fulcrumresources.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Business-Relief-Application-1.pdf\">Business Relief Application <\/a><a class=\"wp-block-file__button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fulcrumresources.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Business-Relief-Application-1.pdf\" download=\"\">Download<\/a><\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fulcrumresources.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Business-Relief-Application-spanish-1.pdf\">Business Relief Application Spanish<\/a><\/p>\r\n<p><strong>The need is still great as Covid-19 surges this winter.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><strong>January 27, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>We are not out of the woods yet!\u00a0 The North County Business Relief campaign, created by Fulcrum Community Resources and the Manzanita Visitors Center, just distributed $6100 to 9 local businesses. \u00a0This brings us to a grand total of $102,230 that we have been able to distribute to 65 local businesses.\u00a0 This also depletes our funds again!<\/p>\r\n<p>Our success has been possible due to generous contributions\u2014sometimes multiple from the same person\u2014from 132 individuals in our community, ranging from $20 to $10,000\u2014and a $30,000 grant from the Oregon Community Foundation. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>This effort is not over!\u00a0 Some of our local businesses are still struggling in these difficult times. \u00a0The funds we have been able to disburse, while not completely meeting needs, have been a welcome shot in the arm that allowed businesses to pay their most pressing bills.\u00a0 Receiving community support has also been very heartening and encouraging, and has helped our local businesses to \u201chang in there.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p>There is still an ongoing need to help our local businesses recover.\u00a0 We are asking\/encouraging each of you to dig deeper and donate in their behalf.\u00a0 We know more stimulus checks are coming from the federal government; perhaps for some of you that is not urgently needed and some portion can be shared with your local businesses.\u00a0 Any amount that you can afford to help our businesses stay open will be welcome.<\/p>\r\n<p>There are three ways to donate:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>1)\u00a0 By check:\u00a0 Please make check out to Fulcrum Community Resources with <strong>North County Business Relief in the memo line.<\/strong>\u00a0 Please send it to Fulcrum Community Resources, PO Box 136, Nehalem, OR\u00a0 97131.\u00a0 Or<\/li>\r\n<li>2)\u00a0 Go to Manzanita branch of Columbia Bank and make a deposit to Fulcrum Community Resource\u2019s account. We have received a healthy response from small businesses and people who are self-employed in Manzanita, Nehalem and Wheeler applying for help. We have been extremely blessed with many generous donations throughout this campaign, which has allowed us to distribute multiple rounds of checks totaling over $93,000 to applicants in our three villages. The Business Relief Committee extends a heartfelt thanks to all of our donors to this point.<\/p>\r\n<p>After the success of the recent Riverbend Players virtual holiday fundraiser, we are once again in the position to offer some financial assistance.\u00a0 We are now accepting applications from all small businesses and self-employed individuals in Manzanita, Nehalem and Wheeler.\u00a0 If you have applied in the past, please submit a new application.<\/p>\r\n<p>The application is short and easy to complete and is available in both English and Spanish. \u00a0The form can be found at the top of this page or by emailing <a href=\"mailto:barbaraandchuck@nehalemtel.net\">barbaraandchuck@nehalemtel.net<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p>A committee consisting of Fulcrum Community Resources board members and other locals will distribute the funds as equitably as possible among the businesses who apply for relief.<\/p>\r\n<p>As the pandemic continues, the need continues to outweigh available funds. Please pitch in any amount that you can afford to help make sure our businesses in Manzanita, Nehalem and Wheeler stay in business.\u00a0 Many of us rely on them directly or indirectly for our income.
